Fabienne's Diary: Manolita: It could have been so different ...

 Sunday 13 June 2021

Three years ago Manolita's owner passed away, and as is often the case, the family wants the bank account, the house and the possessions, but the most precious possession of the deceased person, their dog, is often put on the doorstep. So it was with our little Manolita.  She was given to another elderly lady who could not really take care of her, could never walk her, no ailment was every treated and she never went to a vet.  The elderly lady wanted to put her to sleep because she had mammary tumours, her fur was all tangles, her eyes were inflamed and her teeth were just a disaster!

Fortunately, one of our volunteers lived nearby, and she quickly took Manolita to heart and brought her to us. The sight would make you weep. So neglected! We are going to try to do everything to give this little sweetheart a dignified life to give and operate,...

It is unimaginable and often unbelievable what people will do without a thought and that simply because their own mother's most precious possession was no longer welcome. Too sad for words ...
