I received a beautiful photo on my phone, a beautiful Labrador of less than two years old. He had even been trained to become a guide dog, but they had changed their mind about it. It was strange, but well, we let him come, a dog with this description normally does not come to us, everyone walks around here with a chocolate Labrador, so to speak, they are a fashion phenomenon. So here came our boy.
Not much remained of the wonderful description. He was but a shadow of himself, had high Leishmania that had never been taken care of and could barely stand on his feet. His eyes were clinging with pus, which he could no longer see through. He was thin and weak - and there stood the poor wretch…
You could see that this once beautiful Labrador was very sick and miserable. We have not said any more about it, because that does not help anyway; we have taken him over and immediately brought him to the clinic where the results and diagnosis were confirmed. He's seriously ill and whether we'll get it right is another question. He's not even two years old, and they've never done anything to deal with this, and here in Spain the medication costs barely 5.35 euros per month . Once you discover the disease and treat it right away, you can usually get it perfectly under control, but if you don't do anything about it and let the disease proliferate, it is simply fatal ... underneath.
This is how this boy came to us. And has since been admitted to the clinic. He is having a hard time, but he is sweet and grateful, as we only know it from a four-legged friend…
