Fabienne's diary. And still they keep coming ...

Monday 11 May 2020

The "Corona times" are a nightmare for rescue people, on all levels. The fear controls your day and night. Your responsibility for so many lives, the realisation that the world is standing still and the consequences when it starts to turn again are worrying - you live in complete uncertainty.

However, the world of people who continue to dump has not stopped. Today again 10 pussies have surfaced and a family of Mastin babies, just to start with. All are at the beginning of their existence, both the kittens and the puppies are now our concern. Our team is there to start their future together, to give them the very best, that is what we want.  But before they can leave for a good home, there is a lot more to it: kitten and puppy food, the constant care, their long waiting time with us until they can legally leave, their socialisation. We use their time with us in the most positive way possible, they do not fall sort of hugs, neither of play and romping together,. And then it begins all over again - there are so many other defenceless souls standing at our door.

Transport these days is possible only by road, and even then the extortionate prices that are being asked are downright outrageous. But of course, they are taking advantage and we are powerless and trying to come up with solutions.

Despite the many setbacks we can not give up and we do what we can but there are days when you think, we are just trying to save homeless dogs and cats.  Why does that have to be more and more difficult? They have the same right to an owner and a family where they can become happy, that is and remains our goal, ... always!
