A family who lived in the campo noticed over a period of time that the neighbor's dog was actually not well. They looked at it for a while until they asked the neighbours what was wrong with the dog and if they had already taken it to the vet. They didn't intend to, and as the situation got worse they asked if they could take over the dog, and luckily the neighbours agreed.
They immediately took her to a veterinary clinic and all the necessary tests were done, which showed that she had Leishmania, but also meningitis. Mamie was seriously ill and needed care, and so she ended up with us. She had a very severe and difficult treatment, we didn't know if she would survive. She was very sick and barely moved, was very depressed and had no willpower anymore, but she gradually persevered. Her energy was low but little by little, and with many ups and downs, she gradually got better.
Today she is a Mamie as she should be, cheerful and sweet, happy and grateful, plays and romps like no other. Her life path was a bizarre scene but she is still there and wants to come home somewhere, somewhere she will be loved until she goes to other places.
Mamie steals everyone's heart. A good, sweet dog who deserves so much better.
