We make an urgent appeal for our Donatello because he can no longer stay where he is… We are urgently looking for a solution for this small middle size fellow.
Together with his brother he came to the Netherlands as a puppy, and everything went well in principle. Both were young puppies, so we thought it would be all right, but unfortunately they both had to leave. His brother had more luck in the meantime and has settled down, but this beautiful sweetheart is still waiting for that one owner who will take him as he is, with his good and less good sides.
What does it take to make this work, who is Donatello? He needs an owner who guides him and teaches him rules. He is very sweet and very affectionate, is an active dog for which walking is a must, with an owner with whom he can go about with a lot. Best with people where he is rarely alone and where he can also rest after walking. Donatello is not used to having visitors in the house and reacts fiercely to this, he has to learn to deal with new people and that is only possible if people really want to work on it. He can react insecurely and fearfully to small children, because he has never known them: older children who approach him calmly are no problem at all. He likes to drive along with the car but can also get restless here, he needs to learn that driving a car is positive and a walk follows, something good… He is not good with cats, but he loves people
A home where he could live outdoors, with people who want to tackle this, would suit him best. He is certainly not an impossible dog but needs someone who understands and wants to work on it,… Who will give him a chance?
