A man was standing at our door with his lady. They had to go back to Hungary and their dog couldn't come with them. They kept him anxiously in his cage in the car. Something was clearly not right. The dog adored his owners, like any loyal dog, but had apparently never seen many other people.
We took the animal into our Refugio because there was not much choice. They had adopted him as a puppy from another organisation, then a beautiful ball of fluff. No one knows what they did with this sweetheart, but he snapped at everyone and curled up in a ball. For months he remained scared and gasped out of fear, but gradually the fear gave way to a little more confidence, and everyone worked on him. Today our scared sweetheart is gradually trusting some people again.
Spritzke is a dog that needs an owner who can give him time to come to himself and later form a team together, inseparable and forever. He will be fine, but only if you know that he takes his time. He is sociable and sweet with his peers and secretly loves to cuddle, but only with those he knows.
