May 17 was the day we could pick Marie Fleur up from the airport. Again very heartfelt thanks to
volunteer Marc at SHIN for the great conversations we had back then. Taking Marie Fleur out of her
crate was of course very exciting because we had never seen her before and thus had to rely fully
on the descriptions of her character on the website. Fortunately she exceeded our expectations 100%.
Meanwhile, Marie Fleur has been with us almost two months and we are very happy to have her here.
She really is a super darling! The first night she "whined" little but it ended there and we now let her
sleep near the front door and she finds that is OK.
She was also house trained quickly. Because we had heard that Spanish Mastifs can be extremely
watchful with strangers we invited many visitors to come and see us in the first weeks. There she
has never created problems and everyone is welcome. She is very friendly with everyone and also
very quiet with children. However, we noticed that she is afraid if a man has a stick. With other dogs
she is very social and at the dog school she does it very well. Meanwhile, we often go with her to
walk in the fields and she remains obedient to us. But above all she loves to be cuddled.
