Mama and 7 puppies living in a container depot ...

We were informed that there was a mother with puppies living somewhere in the back of a warehouse among the trucks and containers. We were told that the mummy was untouchable and impossible to approach. When one of our people went to look, they were able to rescue five puppies. They were able to take them from under a container. The dogs were all surrouded by dirt and insects. It was a horrible place and they would not have survived it.

Several days passed, but the mother and two of the puppies were still not with us. When our volunteers went back to the site to try again to save the mother and the remaining puppies, she was told to her surprise that they had caught the mother and the puppies. They had dropped them off at the door of our shelter! Because no one came to open the door, they had left them there! But when we looked for them, the mummy wasn't with the pups.

She had hidden somewhere in the bushes. Two of our students waited lovingly in the intolerable heat which was very clever of them. They sat in the bushes with some of her other puppies that had been saved that day. And yes. Suddenly the mama was walking towards them. She followed the students without any problems to the shelter. Her children did not want to leave so she gave herself over to them completely.

The whole family is now safe and sound: cared for, fleas and ticks removed. Inconceivable! It's a miracle that this little project was successful thanks to our wonderful volunteers and students. Together we are strong, as always!
