Donner, now Sjaak, on the website
Sjaak, in his forever home. He'd grown so much!
In May 2015 we picked Sjaak up in Rotterdam. The difference between the time we found him on the ACE website the time we met him in Rotterdam was so great that we almost
did not recognise him, he had grown so much. And his nose had changed but we could see it was him.
The ride home in the car was uneventful and once we were home the first thing he did was drink a lot and then he immediately went to sleep. He was smaller than stepsister Zöe, a French Bull /
Staffordshire cross and of course they had to get used to each other. We measured him every week and Sjaak grew quickly. His is now head and shoulders above her and weighs 35 kilos and she can walk under him when he's standing up. Zoe is her own boss, but they get on fine.
Sometimes Sjaak gets to play for a few hours with his real sister Jane, it's great to see the close contact between them - it's been amazing. Taking them out together and seeimg them venture into the water for the first time. First paddling gently and then splashing about.
Our Sjaak is the sweetest, happiest, most beautiful,
naughtiest, smartest dog in the whole world. He eats quietly, never gobbles, listens well, stays close, keeps in sight and always looks around to see where you are. Many compliments to those in Spain, who took care of him in his early weeks and gave him such a good foundation.
In short, Sjaak is a dog with no shred of evil in him, and we are very happy with him and we hope he will be with us for a long time.
Regards,
P & A and Sjaak
