Oca and Pato
They were in a terrible state when they came to us, both physically and mentally. No one is entirely sure what happened to them but it's certain that they had suffered terrible neglect and abuse. We think that Oca is Pato's mum, but we are not really sure. Pato is 5 and Oca is 7 - they have both been with us since 2010. Far too long.
They were both scared but Pato soon learned that we wouldn't hurt him. He would come out of his doghouse when it was feeding time and even started to wag his tail. He is very gentle, a nice characer and with patience he began to show what an affectionate and great boy he is.
Oca was absolutely terrified. She had no confidence in man and would only approach us willingly, sort of, when we offered her tasty meat (with her medication hidden inside it!) She was very ill when she arrived and had a serious skin condition, but this improved with good care.
Four years on thanks to patience and care they have gained confidence. They are lovely creatures and deserve a loving family, somewhere they can relax and be happy. Not necessarily together, though that would be wonderful. Who is going to open their heart to these sweet darlings?
