Ferre (Ace Frankie)

 Wednesday, April 14, 2021

Ferre (this is his new name) feels more and more at home. It increases a little every day and that is wonderful to see. That scared, shivering little-confidence dog on Day 1 slowly but surely turns into a real puppy who likes to play, cuddle and explore. As it should be. He's such a sweetheart. The love we give, we get back three times over. And how smart he is! Practice a trick once and he knows exactly what to do. He knows well what is allowed and what is not and usually adheres to this. He learns this incredibly quickly. Outside of experimenting on what he can and cannot bite on (teething), he never actually does anything wrong. It really is such a big dog.

The start was a bit difficult, because Ferre turned out to have a parasite. As a result, his intestines were somewhat upset for a few days. He's not completely healed yet, but things are going in the right direction. Fortunately, it has never made him feel very ill and he secretly finds his new chunks (easily digestible) even better than the chunks he first received.

In a few weeks he has grown in so many areas. The first days here he seldom played, after a week his toys were examined and since this week we are also involved. Every now and then he even comes to pull our clothes to ask us to play. 🙈 Nice sprogression, play with a toy or run after each other in the garden! A week ago he did not dare to leave the house and in the meantime he is already taking short walks. Since then his (self) confidence has really grown.

Strange people are less scary, cars are less scary, the outside world is less scary ... Still scary, but what a difference since day 1! His trust in us is greater than his fear and that is such a satisfaction. Trusting that everything will be fine, because we are there, he takes step by step in the right direction. On to a confident dog that is no longer fearful. Glad we can help with this. Cleanliness and being alone remain work points, but many small steps have already been taken here. With a little patience this will also be fine. We are so happy with him. We couldn't be without him anymore.

Greetings,

Kyra and Kevin. And Ferre 😉
