Umi. Why?

Our little Umi

She was rescued from horrible conditions. A small, skinny and distressed cross Chihuahua. She had milk in her nipples, but her puppies were taken from her and no one knows where they went! Only small Umi, was left with these memories inscribed in her heart. We know enough just looking at her, we don't need words.

She came in and sat quietly in a corner, her eyes cast down, as if she didn't want you to see her. When I picked her up, she felt warm, too warm. She had a fever.

Then I saw that she had a big bump on her neck. Another dog had attacked her and she had contracted an infection. It was a huge wound. The vet treated her immediately. The poor thing was pretty badly hurt.

Umi is a really good character and a beautiful dog, humble and loyal, intensely simple and unobtrusive. She is so sweet, so good natured. 

How can you do such a thing to such a small dog? She limps a bit because she has damaged one of her feet and she's still thin. She hasn't yet fully recovered. She's barely 4 kg, such a small and delicate thing.

The positive news is that we are well on the way to making her better and with a great future. You can see how happy she now is in this little film. She is already reserved. Our Umi.
