Dear dog owners and animal lovers,
We are Stefanie and Lize and we visited the refugio for the first time in 2018. Since then, we have been happy to do our bit to support ACE / SHIN.
Covid-19 affects everyone, but also the refugio. That is why we started looking for ways to raise money now to give them a boost financially.

Frances has finally come home

After months of waiting, Kim, Nele, Jiske, Ditte and Mirte could finally hug their Frances! 🥳💖 Frances was very ill and so was unable to leave to go to her new owners, twice. So they came to get her themselves !! A lovely ending to their holiday!

Behind the scenes no one is watching, .. no voice is raised in their defence, only we as animal protection help where we can but who can handle this number of dumped kittens and dogs. No single shelter can cope with this. Young, old, puppies - all are victims of Spanish law; a killing station is normal practice here.

Arrival at Schiphol 24-08-2020

It had been a long time since I had taken care of shelter arrivals at Schiphol. This of course because of the Corona crisis. It felt great to welcome dogs again and to hand them to their new owners. Last night there were 2 puppies and a beautiful setter mix.
It was wonderfully quiet at Schiphol. The next late flight with dogs has been canceled but luckily a lot of dogs are coming by road.
