A Boy and His Dog

Miracles don't just happen ...

... they are brought about by kindness and love. Duardo is the little dog who was much loved by his owner, who showered him with affection. He was the apple of her eye. Then one day she met a boyfriend who did everything he could to get her to get rid of the dog. In the end he resorted to beating the poor little creature. Instead of leaving the man, the woman chose to dump her once beloved companion.

Who was pining away without her. He was literally dying of a broken heart and nothing Fabienne or anybody else could do would persuade him to eat, to want to live. Then, as a last ditch attempt to save him Fabienne sent Duardo to Belgium to a wonderful kind foster mother. And it worked. He began to eat, slowly, slowly. The little tail began to wag. Read his story on Fabienne's Diary - and the moving letter from his foster mum too.

Now she has made a little film - the text is in Dutch but the pictures speak for themselves, whether Duardo, now called Tommie, is running and playing happily with the other dogs, sleeping cuddled up with his companions or rushing back to his foster mum across the sands.

She says in the introduction - "Our little Duardo is getting better every day. Here's a little movie where you can see how happy he is. When he first met us he didn't want to play with the other dogs. After two months in care it's a pure joy for us and for him. C'est formidable."

This darling little dog is ready to be adopted via A.C.E. He had such a sad experience and now he is happy again and looking forward to his own golden basket.

I love going out in the car.

Such a sweet face!

May we present .... Tom cat

Hello! I'm Tom!

This handsome fellow is Tom! Tom is currently with a foster family in the Netherlands. Tom is lovely, an adorable cat. He's a complete sweetheart who loves people as well as other dogs and cats! He loves a huge cuddle and at night he sleeps so sweetly in bed.

Come and pay him a visit. He'll steal your heart. You may find you have a new family member.

Two sisters + a lot of love and hard work = wonderful gifts for the dogs

Yvonne and Irene are two Dutch sisters who work tirelessly to help A.C.E. and the dogs. Yvonne has a shop - www.dierenbenodigdhedenlevon.nl - where she sells a wide variety of quality goods for animals - including beautiful dog beds, all manner of leads, collars, blankets as well as the usual food and accessories.

She sets apart a portion of the profits for A.C.E. Have a look at the website and all the lovely things she sells, buy something happily knowing that some of your money will help us help the dogs (and the cats). By doing this Yvonne offers us so many goodies. Not just dog and cat food but also lots of plane bags, baskets, dog treats, kennels which she flies out to A.C.E. regularly.

Yvonne's sister stands guard at the pallet they have purchased.

Before flying it out in bulk, Yvonne stores everything at her home and also collects stuff that other people bring to her. In the shop she has a piggy back for customers to put in donations for A.C.E. She has to empty it about every two months, as it's full. When she has enough he uses this money to buy a pallet of goods for A.C.E. from the wholesalers.

Another very generous, and very welcome, load of goods for our dogs.

Great people with their hearts in the right place for our dogs in Spain.

Thank you! Thank you so much!

Cristobal - so happy, at last

Some of our sweethearts

Bully - our tough little rascal. He can be so sweet but he's a devil with strangers.

Noelia - such a nice little dog, but always overlooked who knows why.

Bachus - nearly adopted many times but each time the adopters pulled out, who knows why. So sad!

Our very, very frightened Yody

Etispo - beautiful and elegant and sleepy. One of our beautiful Galgos.

And dear Diya - a sweet girls who will thrive on hugs and sweet words.

Pukkie - the epitome of calm. Intelligent and loyal with the best characteristics of the Perro de Aqua.

Priska is Pukkie's sister - both were rescued from the infamous, horrible killing station of Mairena, Sevilla
