We were donated 400 kg of food including cans of wet food for the dogs and our kitties! Thanks everyone ! Since we have 470 dogs who are enormously active, it requires a lot of food, so it is certainly welcome!!

When we considered our Refugio and its temporary residents last week, we could see that we have sometimes gone further than we wanted, or realised. Due to Corona and the many negative consequences of this, we also have a hard time, both financially and with the living creatures we take in.
We have a cat shelter for about 20 kittens, there are already about 40 cats there. You always push your limits when there is another box at the door or a pair of defenceless eyes look at you when you arrive in the morning. But in total we now have more than 200 kittens, divided among our foster families here, and in every corner or side, because there is simply no other way.
People are buying more and more from the breeders, and thousands are passing from hand to hand. When will people understand that rescue cats and dogs need them so much, a family, a home. Their gratitude is indescribable.
Puppies or kittens grow up so quickly, even our dumped four-legged friends were once puppies somewhere. And today they yearn for a helping family here who opens their heart and door for them. Often our four-legged friends had already been part of a home or family and we have learned that if you approach that well and continue the education, that can have a lot of advantage over a puppy that was sold to people much too young.
Rescue saves lives, and we hope that rescue can become rescue again. Too many people are so chained to this throw-away society that it is time to take a moment to reflect on what is happening around us, and that it really is time for it to become human again, …

I now weigh 33 kg I am very happy here and wanted to thank the employees for the good care when I stayed with you. I have been happily living in the Netherlands for almost 1 year with my owners and Does my playmate and we will never leave here!

Hi Fabienne,
Maybe you don't recognize me anymore because you see and help so many of my canine friends, but last November I (Barney) was still with you in southern Spain. On November 10 you and a lot of friends put us in a van and we drove first to Belgium and then to the Netherlands. I am very happy with my new owners and I lack nothing! I can even sleep in their bedroom.
I am now with my owners back in southern Spain in the province of Murcia; it was quite a journey, but I had the whole back seat to myself! My owners had booked an overnight stay in 3 places along the way, so that we didn't have to drive too much. And along the way we stopped every 2 hours for a nice walk, to drink and have something to eat.
I had to get used to the temperatures in Spain again and I prefer to stay in the shade a bit. I've been in the pool twice, but I still feel best on the side. My owners sometimes try to lure me, but then I lie down under the bushes.
Next April I will come back to Spain, then I will also visit Marion and Paul McCartney, who have looked after me so well. Of course they don't know this yet, and I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell them too. Maybe I can come over and show you how well I can listen and how well I am being looked after.

Eileen was rescued from the killing station along with Marjolein, along with their puppies. They were lucky enough to have found a good home each and every one of them, but their mothers are still looking. Eileen is a calm, friendly lady, very sweet to people, although she is a bit hesitant at first. She also gets along fine with other dogs, although she sometimes dares to assert herself at first contact. She just needs some time to get used to new friends. After a lifetime of giving birth to puppies and surviving on the streets, it is now time for something different! We hope to finally be able to give her the life and future she so well deserved!
