Thor now Pepe 1 year at home!!

Monday, August 30, 2021

Pepe is doing very well. Tomorrow he will have been with us for a year. Pepe's coat isn't quite back yet, but it's improving by the week. I now give him Biotin and that helps. We also had Pepe tested for the above diseases at the beginning of March. Pepe runs loose when walking (he listens really well) and when another dog approaches, I tie him up. He is still quite unpredictable in how he reacts. His body language is now familiar to me, so I just anticipate. Too bad he still does that, but otherwise he's a great dog. Sweet, grateful, cuddly, funny, clumsy and the best friend of Loewie (another dog), the children and us.

Fabienne's Diary: Fat Berta - An imposing appearance, but a real heart stealer!

Tuesday 31 August 2021

The police were at the door. They had to confiscate an American Bully cross. Her owner couldn't give her the care she needed, and the situation was no longer tenable. They were actually obliged to take her to the killing station , but they couldn't get it their heads and hearts round it. So the question arose whether we, even though we are overcrowded and again overcrowded, could save her.

And so our 'coffee table' came in. A huge American Bully cross that had probably served as a breeding bitch. But whatever her past has been, she's a real treasure. A thoroughly soft character, that's how she steals everyone's heart. She doesn't look like much but is very endearing with that sweet head of hers.

She has to go on a diet and needs care and attention, that is first… But our Fat Berta is social, calm and friendly! Who wants to give her a happy one, will have to have knowledge of this breed and know that our sweetheart can only go where there is a heaven waiting for her!
