More wagging tails - arrivals Schiphol, November 4th

Irresistable Jero - he won't be in foster care long, we're sure

A hug from her loving new mistress.

On Wednesday two large dogs arrived. Each had had to fly in an individual cage of their own, because of their size.

First Jero, a handsome Boxer boy. His Belgian daycare mom drove all the way to the airport to pick him up. It won't be long before someone falls for him. More information and pictures can be found here.

Creme was then allowed out of her cage. She needed a moment to acclimatise herself, but she came out with a gently wagging tail to greet her new mistress. We'll never know what this sweet dog has been through but it won't have been good.

We'd love to see her progress - the weight she'll put on, her coat shining again. She has a beautiful life ahead of her on a farm, where there are some dogs already.

Beautiful gentle Creme

Arrivals - Rotterdam - November 3rd

This time our volunteers and adopters met a flight bringing several dogs, including one who is going to a temporary shelter. Nils (the brown dog) has been reserved and an appointment will soon be made for the introuction to his family.

The adopters of Dalton have a Galgo and are also working with another dog from another country. Isn't it great that these rescue dogs can all be saved.

Richard who is adopting Ambar, who looked after tiny Grey and tried to save her, already has a cat and a dog at home so it will be a mad houshold. He also brought a parcel of food and treats.

We are very happy of course and we wish everyone a great time with their rescued animals.

Greetings Dagmar and Martin

They called him 'Mr Nobody' ....

Safe now with Fabienne

Django, they called him Mr Nobody ...

Finally, finally we were allowed to take him away from the breeder. He was a tiny specimen of the breed and therefore very sought after between the breeders. He had no name. He knew no love. He got no attention, no one cared for him. He turned round and round in his small iron cage. And the years passed.

So he came with us, the poor thing. He really did not know what hit him! Where they love him and show him new things - a walk, a basket and a blanket, grass, a shrubbery, a tree, a path a garden. The TV playing in th ebackground, people who come to visit him and who caress him.

Everything, but everything is new and little Django finds it very tiring. It is a lot for him to take in and sometimes he even crawls away into his safe crib and tries to behave as if you can't see him.  He will gradually get better, you can see that, but all in good time ... Little by little our Mr Nobody is going to be somebody, because for us he is really  a guy that deserve the very best and we are going to make sure he gets it.

As of today he has a name, now he's one of us and his life has begun ...

Mr Nobody no more - my name is Django

So strange to be out of my cage

Getting used to love

Such a pretty dog - but that's no excuse

A little bemused - so much to take in

The start of a new, happy life

Stella

Stella, ... in 2015 her little life changed completely

Stella  deserved so much better than this.

It was a hot summer night, was very late when the bell rang. Who could this be at such an hour?
Because we were not right there at the gate, immediately, there was a sustained, impatient ringing of the bell.

Hang on, we''re coming.

A lady with bright red lipstick was at the gate with a girl of about 14, who looked at me with big eyes
"It is here where you take in cats", she asked? Then we got a detailed explanation of allergy and of it being an unsustainable situation so that the cat had to go now - today.

They had had Stella from day one, since 200, but somehow the allergy had only now reared its head and it was all the fault of the cat. Stella sat quietly in her carrier, eyeing us with her big blue eyes, totally oblivious to the situation, not realizing what was going on.

Then came another round of crocodile tears and pleas - we can visit her again, can't we. Can we call to see how she is doing ...?

Stella, stayed with us and it took months for the cat to come out of her den, .. she was so sad, so miserably sad that we were really worried about her. Of course there never was a phonecall  to ask how she was .. no sign of anyone.

Stella barely moved, ate almost nothing and was rapidly losing weight. They wanted with no more contact, she wanted nothing more. Her family.

Now it's a bit better and she resigned herself to the situation, but she needs to be back in a family, not to have to live in a shelter. She is so sweet and so easy .. a sweet lady, .. a quiet and docile nature, .. she was infinitely loyal to her owner, so much so that she she almost gave up living for missing them.

Our Stella

Such a sweet nature.

And so beautiful. A gorgeous, faithful, loving cat.

Please. Will you be my new family?

Our beautiful Charlotte ...

Dogs and catss - we love them all. We want the best for them - a warm forever home and lots of love.

Meet our beautiful Charlotte

Get off that roof!!!

Sweet Celine is our little athlete. She's tiny, the gate is very high - but that's easy. So what next? Aha, the roof. No? What do you mean, 'no'!

Ooops! Nearly!

What? But I'm here now!

Yay! I did it!
