We got a call,… I'm going through a divorce, my husband left, and I can't take it anymore, blah blah blah,… The dog has to go today, today, it didn't work out. Not long after I said that we'd take him in, the doorbell was already ringing. There stood our “enfant terrible” in all its glory, an unhinged individual ...
He knows no 'no', he barks and barks, there is no stopping it. And if he doesn't get his way, he just bites. He does his business where he stands, and he has a pronounced fear of separation. In short, Pieterke is barely 6 months old and has not received any education at all!
Personally, he has already stolen my heart, because behind that big mouth is a small and sweet heart, but it is a dog that needs to be completely re-educated. He is the happiest dog when you pet and cuddle him, but in the beginning he looked with eyes that said "shall I bite you?" but that has changed completely now. Our people are all concerned with him and everyone is trying to teach him something, step by step. He lies at my desk and sleeps peacefully at my feet, is very loyal, so sweet, but you are not allowed to leave. Going away for a while is accompanied by a howling Beagle who is then very unhappy. He needs someone who knows the character of the Beagle, who can undertake his great re-education, and who lives in a place where his barking does not make neighbours jump out of their skin. Someone with humour, because he is a 'case'.
Our Pieterke is a little project, but such a sweet baby that we see gradually changing, but there is still a long way to go. Who will make him a happy dog, who will be by your side all his life?
