We, Tatum (ACE Olaba) on the left in the picture and Melle (ACE Straffen Hendrik) in the middle of the picture have been home for 3 quarters of a year now!

Since January, cat Tops (ACE Jackson) has also been part of our family! (Photo 4) Tops is one of the 4 males in the house!
That one is a real rascal! But ... also very sweet!

He is a very sweet and good dog, this 11 year old senior. Benny, long known as Benchy, was adopted 9 years ago and has been loving and devoted to his owners all these years. Also it has always gone well with the other 2 dogs. Unfortunately, it is imperative that the adopters part with their dogs due to health problems. We are therefore looking for a very nice place for Benchy, where he will be welcome for a number of years. Benchy is a really nice companion, likes to go for walks and plays with other dogs. If they are very busy or dominant, he prefers to avoid them. It is OK for Benchy to be home alone for a while, also being in the car and running off lead is fine: he listens well to his owners. Benchy is not used to cats and is uncomfortable with young, busy children. Benchy is the example of the most devoted, obedient, docile, good dog ... exceptionally sweet and easy going, truly a beautiful dog with which a lot can be achieved. Very understandable that heaven and earth and more than 300 km have been moved by Spanish people who wanted to ensure that this golden character would have a bright future. A friend for life, very loyal and completely trustworthy ... that's Benchy, who would love to be there for you.

With a lot of pain we put Ziros to sleep on April 16. We picked him up from you at the age of 11 and he turned 17 years old. The loss is great and hurts. He was the sweetest! 馃寛馃挮
Kasia’s 200km Fundraiser for the ACE Dog Shelter

To be precise, Kasia plans to walk every step from C贸rdoba to La Cala de Mijas, which is a journey of approximately 230 km, with the aim of raising no less than € 2000 for ACE (Animal Care Espa帽a). Kasia expects to start her sponsored charity walk on Monday, May 10, and since she plans to cover between 30 and 35 kilometers every day, it will take her a week. The route takes her along part of the old Camino Moz谩rabe (which eventually connects to the famous Camino de Santiago), but in this case she runs the section from C贸rdoba to Baena, Antequera and on to La Cala.
Of course, as we all know all too well, the Covid pandemic still makes it difficult to formulate concrete plans. But as you would expect from an enterprising young lady like Kasia, she already has her Plan B. In that case, instead of leaving C贸rdoba, she will walk the same distance, but along a circular route that will take her from La Cala de Mijas to Alhaur铆n. El Grande, Co铆n, Ardales, Ronda, Marbella and back to La Cala, without setting foot outside the province of Malaga.

Darius was rescued from a killing station. At first he was very timid and scared, but meanwhile he is a jovial and friendly boy with his people who take care of him every day. He is not too big and therefore easy to take with you, once he knows you, he will be a real friend for life. He is a Podenco cross so must be able to be active and to walk. A very sweet dog who will feel completely happy, treated with a little patience. He is very social and sweet with the four-legged friends around him.

The costs for these various vaccinations are very high and that is money that is no longer available for rescue operations. Fonzy is a young Galgo puppy that we rescued from the killing station. A super thoughtful, sweet and affectionate character, but he has a problem with his hip that requires surgery. His thigh sticks out on one side of his body, which is very painful.
This operation will cost around 800 euros, which we would like to save together, so that the poor fellow can be helped as quickly as possible.
He currently lives in a family with cats and dogs, and he is now learning how to deal with them! He's a hug, a charming rascal!

Hi here is Brandy. We adopted her 2 and a half years ago. She is a total charmer and has become my third and favorite child !! She is getting over her anxiety of being out on the street, but she rules the dog park we go to every day! She is very smart and easy to train (except for walking outside). Loyal and so loving. She's been enjoying this past covid year so much 馃檪 Thank you for all your work and we would love to visit you sometime.

Sari was also one of the dogs, rescued from people who are out of their minds, but go about their business with defenceless dogs, big or small, anything is possible.
There was finally a response because it was in the papers, why else would they care? No one sees what's going on, feels it, experiences it, and the four-legged friends who have to undergo it have no voice. It makes you angry again and again and you feel incredibly powerless, but it makes no sense ... meaning, there is so much misery these days that no one wants to hear it, neither for humans nor for animals.
But Sari was rescued, a young dog, with a sweet and grateful character, who now needs an owner who will do right by her. She is social and makes positive progress every day here with us. A good dog if with the right owners. She still has to learn a lot because it is still a puppy and has not yet seen much of the world.

Piedboeuf has been with me for over a month now and I could no longer be without him. I am single and often lonely due to corona. He has completely taken away this feeling. Last Friday we celebrated his birthday. I am adding some nice pictures here. One was for an online instagram page to imitate a painting as well as possible (#tussenkunstenquarantaine), the other was he taken to my photography class and then another one in the baby carrier that I bought to take him on the scooter.

An English couple called us for help. They had found a neglected cat in their garden and they didn't know what to do with it. A very sweet cat, who just came to give kisses and wanted to be part of things. He walked with difficulty and clearly had pain in one of his front legs.
What exactly is wrong with his leg is still being investigated, but for the time being he is safe and without pain. We are first working on his recovery because he is very thin and needs to get better.
Once this sweetheart can get well again and find a good owner , he will undoubtedly be a beautiful, grey handsome boy! Yet another project in our big ACE | SHIN family!

With a lot of sadness, we want to let you know that our dear Aiden has gone to sleep. We adopted Aiden with you in March 2016 when he was already of age and had 5 more beautiful years here with us. It was truly the sweetest dog we have ever had, so lovingly and in love and so incredibly loyal, and he suited us so well from day 1. He was great with my kids who grew up with him. We enjoyed him so much and are very happy that we have been able to give him a nice old age (happy for years). We also want to thank you very much for this sweet dog and we hope to be able to adopt another sweet old one once we have given this some time.

He was one of the dogs we rescued from a terrible place. A small dog, very affectionate, a kind of cross between maybe Podenco and Pinscher. He was lucky that he could immediately go into shelter once he was rescued.
Here he develops as a - a little too - affectionate dog. He doesn't leave your side for a minute, he goes everywhere, and likes to sit on your lap. He is friendly with all other dogs and cats, and life is now for him a party!
After he first had to endure hell, he is now allowed to sleep on a sofa. And that makes this sweet little dog one of the happiest whoppers on this earth. He is sweet with children, adults, it is all a party for him ! Unbelievable how these dogs change in such a short time and how they leave the past behind, ... Now forever ...

It was a week full of worries. Many new dogs with problems. Misery with the urbanisations related to colony cats ... they want the cats dead ... away ... they don't care ... and we want a happy medium. We sterilise and neuter ... try to maintain an acceptable number of colonies without any help from the urbanisations themselves or the municipalities. Problems are there to be solved ... but it's often a difficult task. So many little ones ... so many pregnant dogs and cats. No one can keep up with that ... and now that we can't afford a colony vet for the colonies it's just getting out of hand. Very occasionally visitors come by appointment, but very few. Hopefully we can receive our volunteers again soon. We wish everyone a brave and healthy week!
