In memoriam Koos

Saturday, July 25, 2020

Today Koos fell asleep. Koos has had serious muscle sagging in his hindquarters for months, and despite everything the vets have tried, it didn't improve. Koos came here with Noelle, who has previously died of bone cancer. They were a couple. Koos was adopted first, it didn't go well. He's bite, argue with the other dog.... The adopters could not walk normally in the street with him, because Koos wanted to have it his way. At the dog school they said that Koos hadn't the ability to learn anything and 2 behavioural therapists said 'this dog will never beOK'. Then he had to leave after pulling his owner on the ground, resulting in 2 bruised knees.

He came to the shelter then and there he met Noelle and they became a couple. He also had to leave there, together with Noelle, because they barked too much. They came here and indeed Koos couldn't walk on a lead normally. Dropped down, squirmed, etc. Here we practiced a with Koos first and after a few months he went to the dog school. And there too he had fallen back into his old habit of not being able to walk in strange terrain.

After a few weeks the tide turned and there Koos was in top form. The people from the dog school and the examiners said what a combination this is, fantastic. And that for a Spanish dog who had no ability to learn. Koos was a great dog, who needed time, how we miss him, our hunk. Koos turned 12.5 years old. Koos was an ACE dog. Goodbye big kid.

Thank you Marjolein and Sonja for your good care!
