Update Bauke

14-4-2021

She slept in the car on the way home and we did not hear her tonight. We were prepared for the worst and that is why things are very good for all of us with Bauke. She is very scared and you can see that everything is new to her, but she radiates so much goodness and she is quite curious, I think. We give her all the time she needs to get used to everything and every little step forward feels like a milestone. It doesn't matter how fast it goes, Bauke sets the rhythm. A big plus is that she doesn't bite, our Max (Shin Fibo) did. And Max is now the biggest teddy bear in existence. Every time we go into the garden I put on her safety harness and inside I take it off because I think it is a bit tight when she is lying down. She is already fine with putting it on and off. Also walking outside in the garden on a leash is better than expected and she does a lot of pee in the grass. Today she has been sleeping for longer, without being woken up by any noise. I was just lying on the floor next to her and she fell asleep with her head on my arm. I really thought that was quite something! Little things like that make me really happy :) She doesn't want to eat chunks yet, she does shells of meat, but that will come naturally.

Bauke has been with us for 1 week now. She makes small big steps every day. It's really great to see how hard she tries not to be afraid. Here is a video of this morning in the garden. Walking outside is not yet an option, we still have to discover too many new things at home for that.

Bauke is still doing very well. Now with us for 2 weeks. Today she ate with the other dogs for the first time. Otherwise she would only dare to eat when she was alone. She is now also taking a few steps when I hold her leash. A small step every day. Beautiful dog that I am completely in love with 🥰
