If you ask dog lovers to name a Spanish dog breed, almost everyone will be the first to call out a Galgo. Not very strange because this fantastic greyhound not only has a distinctive appearance, but unfortunately also often makes the news in a sad way as a discard after their working life is over. Often they are left somewhere by the hunters to die alone or come to their end in some other horrible way. It is also increasingly common for them to be taken to a killing station by the hunters themselves.
And from these killing stations, ACE has ransomed a record number of some 50 Galgos in recent weeks!
These are now with us ... safe ... and will receive all the care they need first. Some will need a little more time than others, but hopefully we can run them all to their golden baskets quickly. That is our priority now. They are not yet up for adoption on the site, but are already available for virtual adoption.
