Fabienne's diary: A day later in our Refugio ...

 Monday, January 11, 2021

We have the weather fairly well under control but it is raining and hailing here today, which means that we cannot get the dogs dry. Many of them have been admitted to the clinic, or we sit with them inside the offices and the canteen, just to get them warm. But the electricity leaves us as usual all the time.

We have almost completely lost our cabin where the food was, just like the cabin with our towels and blankets. But what's much worse are our sick dogs now.

The dogs that were drowning and were resuscitated are doing well under the circumstances, their lungs got water, and it is a miracle that they made it, especially thanks to our vet Javier, and our great team.

Other dogs are currently in treatment and are starting to cough more and more, that will be fine. But still I'm afraid for some of them ... But we are going to fight for them, that's for sure.

When we drive around the village and see the damage there, then you realise what a night it was and how dangerous it was.

A big thank you to all of our volunteers, people who helped us. We are immeasurably grateful to you ... For our four-legged friends !!
