Nikita is a daughter of a Mastin that we rescued from the street. The whole family has been well adopted but Nikita now has to leave her family. She grew up lovingly with this family, together with a cat and together with the grandchildren, especially the 7-year-old grandson, who is her great love. Nikita recently went to stay at a guest house and there things went wrong.
We do not know exactly why and nobody can tell us except the guest house itself, but Nikita seems to have bitten someone there. She must have been utterly panicked by the strange surroundings and the strange men who approached her, because nothing like that ever happened to Nikita before then. She does relate more to women than to men, but it always goes well with a quiet introduction. Nikita is also good with cats and other dogs. During the past 1,5 years that Nikita was with her family nothing ever happened, that's why we think it's such a shame. Unfortunately, due to these events, the current adopters no longer want to continue with Nikita.
People who like the larger Mastin type, who have plenty of space, and the patience and confidence to let Nikita become the devoted family dog that she really is again, should definitely keep her in mind. Mastins are very sweet dogs. With proper supervision, they are very devoted to their family and very loyal. We do not know what went wrong in the guesthouse, but back home Nikita is again the behaving as the one they raised themselves. However, the people do not want to continue with our Nikita, so we are looking for a new home.
For more information about Nikita, please click on her name. (Please note that on the website it says that Nikita is adopted and has found a new home in the Netherlands. However, as you will have read above she is now looking for a new home.)
