Nilva was spotted on the edge of a busy road on the way to Manilva. An oldie on her weak legs, looking around to see where her owner could have got to. With her eyes full of cataracts she got the best out of her sight, but no car that passed saw her walking along.
After having braved the sweltering heat for a few days, she lay down on the side of the road, because she could go on no longer. The world rushed by in the day and also at night, when everyone dives into their beds and everything becomes quiet. She kept waiting for her owner, on the side of the road.
When a car stopped, she got into it without hesitation, because she was so tired and exhausted. She lay down in the backseat and let out a very long sigh. She slept and slept and slept.
Now that Nilva is with us, we are getting to know an old dog, with the usual everyday old age ailments. But with the wish in her heart to be allowed to be happy for a while, with someone who still wants to grant that happiness to an old rescue dog. She will to be so indescribably grateful.
