Fabienne's Diary: Lolo, the Chihuahua on the streets of Mijas, ...

 Thursday 12 November 2020

Lolo, a small Chihuahua who strolled alone and abandoned through the streets of Mijas. Looking around him angrily, and especially conveying the message “don't touch me” because if anyone tried, he would bare his teeth. Such a small thing must have an owner, or so everyone thought, but when they finally brought him in to us, we hoped for 10 days that his owner would come forward and he would be very happy to see them but no one came. It is certain that this small 3 kg dog has had only very bad experiences with people, because he comes with a long manual. He is now in foster care but cannot stay there, this biting and wayward Chihuahua. He sometimes jumps on your lap, and then looks very jumpy, will this person be nice to me now or should I start biting, defend myself? And so he defends himself, with his teeth bare. He hates cats. With dogs he is not sure, this is also difficult in the beginning, but there is some improvement, he has not known any other dogs at all. He wants to be loved but does not dare, is constantly under the illusion that a beating will follow or what, we don't know. He would love to go for a walk, but putting on his harness requires a united cooperation with a lot of patience, but once he can come along and is ready, his happiness is still not complete. He can be very sweet, but also vice versa, because he does not trust people. For him we need an adopter who knows this breed and can deal with it, who knows how to handle it. We are convinced that this will certainly work out with an owner who gives him time and patience. He needs a strong owner who will give him the feeling of confidence and the certainty that he will not be mistreated.

His name is Lolo, and he is a project needing patience and persistence, and is certainly not a beginner's dog. Small as he is, he is now a misunderstood little dog who has lost his way here in this world. He needs a human who can bring him back “on track” and to whom he can come home unconditionally.
