Joyful stories for the New Year - No. 2 - Puff

Sweet anxious Puff.

That photo. The one that touched the heart of his boss. Puff had given up.

On arrival at El Refugio. Scared and skinny.

Puff had a terrible start. Dumped, God knows when. Living on the streets for months, scavenging in the garbage. At risk from the killing station round up and from being hit by a car. Luckily we found him and took him away from danger. And then his luck changed. A wonderful person saw him on Facebook and fell in love. Barely a month after he came to us sweet Puff was on his way to his forever home and his golden basket. Below is the start of a wonderful account of his adoption and arrival at his new home.

Puff couldn't go on. I read that sentence about 100 times because, sweet Puff, we didn't intend to adopt a second dog. We already had a 10 year old German Shepherd and a 13-year old cat, whom we had always promised a quiet retirement. But then - this sentence and that photo. I couldn't take my mind off you. Your faithful eyes, and your ears pressed flat against your head out of anxiety. I was completely lost. It took me a lot of effort to covice your new ower to adopt you, but after one week he also fell for you.

To read on, please click on this Lucky Dogs link. It's a wonderful story of hope and love.

Puff meets the children, his new companions. He loved them straight away.

A soft cushion and warm love. So much better than the hard, scary streets.
