A young man survived for a long time on the street, in Huelva a little bit everywhere, but never without his faithful friend, his dog,… He saw his possessions, work and home disappear, and since then has lived under the bridge, on the street, with his dog, his one true friend, he says. His only rock.

The homeless man suffers from epilepsy, and cannot live without his best friend, but when he recently had a severe seizure in the street and had to be taken away in an ambulance, his dog was taken to a killing station, and from there we rescued the dog , not knowing what and how the background of this loyal rascal was.

Suddenly the bell rang, and there stood this man, who had walked more than 350 km to pick up his dog. On foot from Huelva to Mijas, without a penny in his pocket,… Living from the trash cans and from water that could be found on the way. With here and there a good soul who granted him something, a sandwich or a drink. Until he came here and stood at our door and asked if he could collect his best friend again.

He took his dog out of the cage, cried tears and she wagged her tail with happiness, they had found each other again,… We provided a full stomach, a well-fitting harness and leash, food and drink for both, and off they went , on the road again,... We brought them to La Cala to outsmart the afternoon heat,... Tonight they walk back to the streets of Huelva, where they felt at home, where the bridges have their own and where they survive together in a society like this one,… Each one for himself, where solidarity is often hard to find.
