We got a phone call that a little Yorkie, Ricky, was walking alone down the street, no owner came for him, and he had no chip. Nobody claimed him, and when he came into the Refugio it became clear to us that something was wrong with Ricky.
It was difficult for him to eat and he was in pain; when the vet checked him, he saw that his entire mouth was painfully inflamed, and he needed urgent surgery on his teeth. They did not take care of whoever and wherever they are. The dog must have been in a lot of pain. He is about 6 years old, is a very good and sweet character, social with other dogs. He is a sweetheart. Now just needs a good owner. And this time one that looks after him very well and takes great care of him, as he deserves.
