And now there is one ... Cor is still looking for his forever home!
We had already closed the doors because of the general lockdown here in Spain. We were just cleaning the entrance when a Spanish couple suddenly turned up in front of the gate with 3 Galgos and a smaller dog. They didn’t say much, but were determined. They were sent, they insisted, they were told they could come. It had all been arranged. We did not contradict them, it madeno sense as the dogs would otherwise be left to their fate. We wouldn't allow that In normal times and certainly not now, when most of the poor devils end up on the street or anywhere, and never get another chance again. They are either picked up by the killing stations and put to sleep almost immediately or they starve to death.
It is now also up to the people to survive and stay healthy, everyone is doing that, including us, but our animals are our lives and we certainly will not leave them to their fate. The four dogs were given these appropriate names : Cor, Ron, Na and Vivie, named after the Corona virus that is holding everyone captive. Four in a row, four dogs who were saved at the last minute when the lockdown fell. They are still safe, they still have a chance. They are all very sweet dogs, a bit timid at first, but all will be well.
Update: All will indeed be well. Ron and the small dog, Vivie, have been reserved. Na is in pre reservation. Cor is still waiting. Who will take this quiet, sweet boy into their home and heart and keep him safe forever?
