Teddy Edward* is happy to announce that this week the British Parliament has at last passed the Animal Welfare Sentencing Bill 2021. Over ten years of campaigning by thousands of individuals and all of the UK Animal Welfare organisations has finally met with success. Now anyone convicted of cruelty to animals here can be imprisoned for up to 5 years, instead of just one year - and even then that wasn't always the case.
Teddy hopes that Spain will soon have a similar law to protect all animals. And he sends lots of love and paw shakes to his other Mummy and Daddy, Fabienne and Dirk, and to everyone over there especially those who knew him and to all the dogs and cats still in the Refugio and at Algeciras and hopes they will soon find loving forever families like he has done.
Lots of love from Teddy and Clodagh (who wrote this for him because his paws aren't good at typing.)
* Teddy was called Dunde at ACE. His new name reflects the fact that he looks like a Teddy Bear. And it's short, like Dunde. And the Edward bit comes because Teddy Edward is a family name for teddies Teddy Edward has only three legs but he can run very, very fast! And jump too.
