Help us help our animals (castration project)

Wednesday 19th May 2021

You can help animals by saving not only those who you can see need rescuing, but also by preventing new animals being born on the streets. This is equally important. That's why we've been castrating feral cats and dogs for years. These are animals that are not capable of being tamed or rehomed or where it would be wrong to try.

We have already castrated many cat colonies in the villages surrounding us and we continue to provide medical and other care where necessary. As a result, fortunately, these colonies no longer produce offspring who would endure unnecessary hunger and suffering and they will no longer have to fight each other when the females are on heat.

Unfortunately, new cats are dumped into existing colonies by people who can see that these colonies are being taken care of. And it also happens that stray and lonely street cats and kittens try to join a group. This disrupts the order in the group and there is then also the risk of more births on the street. This soon becomes an insurmountable problem once more and before you know it there is another explosion of kittens. Kittens who from the moment they see the light of day are already doomed to a hard and usually short life on the streets.

It is therefore very important that we continue to monitor our colonies and castrate newly arrived or dumped cats and kittens as soon as possible.

But castration costs money, and we are asking for your help with that. Would you like to contribute to preventing new life on the streets by helping us?
