Fabienne's diary - Danna and Lhola won their lawsuit, and are now finally free !!

It all started more than a year ago, when Paky in Algeciras received these two oldies from a man who needed an operation on his heart. After the operation, however, it went very badly and he deteriorated faster and faster. He wanted so badly for us to take care of his dogs and look for a good home for them because he didn't have much longer. And then it fell silent.

A month later the son suddenly showed up. But his father - who had passed away in the meantime - had urged us not to give his dogs to his son. He wouldn't take good care of them, he said, had never helped him with them and hadn't looked after them for years. It was an outspoken wish of the man, and so we kept our word. However, the son became extremely aggressive, so much so that the police had to get involved and an official complaint was filed. 

Paky kept trying to persuade him that we should all think for the sake of the dogs and find a solution. But the son in turn filed a complaint against us and it turned into a lawsuit, so both dogs could not be released for adoption. all the while living in a cage in the Refugio. Both had a very difficult time and several times we begged to be released, but no, the son wanted to be in the right, even though we knew he did not even really want the dogs.

Last week, a verdict was finally given in this lawsuit and… We won them !!

In our shelter in Algeciras a lot of tears were shed. And the two “convicted” sweethearts are now free dogs, who have to find happiness somewhere, ... They are 11 and 13 years old and have been together for a lifetime. Two lovely dogs , have been loyal to their owner all their life. But sentenced by his son to a year in a cage.
