Fabienne’s dog of the week: Benteke.

Monday 7 December 2020

Benteke was one of twenty dogs rescued from a man who lived in the campo. He had once moved there in the hope of living a quiet and carefree life, but was increasingly threatened and harassed. He feared for his dogs, so he asked for help to relocate as many as possible. Some stayed with him, 11 dogs came to us. \

Benteke has come a long way, in the shelter and with his foster family. At home he is a sweet dog, a real cuddler, with his people, his pack. He can walk nicely on a leash, and can also ride in the car. A solid (and high) fence is a must, because he is a very flexible and resourceful dog.

However, Benteke needs a stable and calm environment, without too many stimuli or changes. He is very suspicious of strangers, men in particular, and sometimes dares to make mistakes. He needs an experienced dog owner, who will guide him through the long road he still has ahead of him.
