Every living being has its story, its life, its experience. So does our Vedett. A beautiful dog, but scared and withdrawn, with a sad background.
Ever since he was a puppy, he was the dog of a man who had taken the criminal path and got one conviction after another. He was regularly in prison. In between his convictions he was allowed to go home, for the weekend, or temporarily. But this time his conviction apparently lasted a bit longer and he had to report back to prison. He was not alone, however, he had his dog Vedett and wanted to try to get him into the prison. This was of course refused to him and because he could not do otherwise, he released Vedett at the gate of the prison.
The very timid dog ran away after his owner had to go inside. But he kept coming back to the gate, but no one could touch him. He remained faithful outside the prison, in the hope that his owner would soon be with him again. But it went on and on.And the prison staff wanted the dog gone. The killing station was informed, but fortunately we were able to stop that happening.
A jailer called us and asked for urgent help, and that's how we managed to catch this sweetheart with a trap. He's with us now, and he's slowly thawing out a bit. He is a cross Perro de Agua so his uniqueness is typical of the breed. He is a very sweet, loyal, sensitive soul, who is looking for an owner who can understand that and can empathise with it. Putting a little time into him will work wonders. He is not everyone's friend, but this special, loyal dog will go through fire for his owner.
