He was in a cage in the killing station. A sight to remember. No hair and he kept scratching himself until he was bleeding and all in this unbearable heat. He was skinny and didn't know what to do with himself because of the itching, misery and powerlessness. The kill station rulers told us that his mother was a world champion, as if this would impress us as we looked down on that heap misery that could no longer carry on. Was he young or is he old? You could not tell in the badly neglected state that he was in.
After he was checked by our vet it turned out that he had mange and was dehydrated. There was no hair left on that poor animal, and he is barely two years old.
Thor has been with us for a while now and he has been treated for his scabies. He still has to remain in quarantine because of the risk of infection, but in the meantime he is starting to recover and those eyes shine again when he sees you. No longer diving and peeing with fear, no...
He is gradually becoming happy again and is able to be a puppy again. He is still a young playful dog, but also a great gentleman. But what a treasure! Whoever he is, or whatever race he is, his mother who was world champion doesn't know about it, and he knows it even less. But one thing is certain, he was in the killing station and was doomed. It is a miracle that we were there, and that his future could be saved. Now to find a good owner or family!
