The story of our LOUCHETTE

Wednesday 3 June 2020

A little (less good) news about Louchette.

Louchette is a playful, sweet cat, but who dares to bite and claw on occasion. Her biggest pleasure is racing through the house.

She doesn't like it when her belly is caressed. Now we know why.

About a week ago she suddenly became languid, the playfulness was gone, she no longer ate and could not even jump on a chair.

After four days I could no longer leave it and made an appointment at the veterinary clinic.

After a superficial investigation, nothing was found, but for the sake of safety they made an X-ray, which revealed that she had a metal object in the colon.

There was only one option: operate.

To everyone's surprise, the object was a ... ball (air rifle) of 1 cm.

She must have been shot before you found her since there was no external gunshot wound.

After an additional blood test for any metals and 4 days of hospitalization, she was allowed to go home.

Now I also understand why she did not want to be caught.

But ... it all ends well.

She has to take it easy for a few more weeks and then she should be completely her old self again.

The staples can be taken out next Tuesday.

I hope you got through the lockdown without too many problems and wish you a nice summer.

With best regards,

Joelle
